For myself, I found learning how to construct a Boolean search query a lot like formulating an algebraic expression, but with words. It can be tricky.
I created the instructional video, with real-time examples, for teachers so they would have access 24/7 on how to guide their students through database searches.
After creating this initial video, I wanted to break up each part of the 10-minutes into separate videos, because learning how to construct Booleans and learning the features of each database was a lot of information all at once. A 10-minute video could easily have been made only for Boolean structure and examples.
I could use "Teaching your Students How to Effectively Search Databases" as an introduction and create other specific videos for more in depth learning.
The trickiest idea to master for databases was that there is no one right answer. You have to think of multiple alternatives to keywords and how those keywords interact with each other in different orders and permutations.
In general, I found instructional videos to be a great idea for teachers and students who may need support when not in school, or even during class when they may not be able to access my services. This way they can replay the video at any time and watch it as many times as they need. The only downside, I will need to keep track of the content within the videos and update when the content subject or usability changes.
